Solihull is one of the UK’s most attractive locations for business, benefiting from excellent connectivity, a highly skilled workforce, and a dynamic economy. The borough is a key contributor to the West Midland’s economy particularly within manufacturing, technology, and professional services. This strong industrial base, alongside a thriving financial services sector and significant inward investment, positions Solihull as a key driver of regional growth.

In recent years, Solihull has seen a 25% increase in AI-related startups, with technology driving innovation across MedTech, SaaS, and data infrastructure. Businesses in Solihull are increasingly focused on digital transformation, AI-driven solutions, and global expansion.

Headpoint Advisors has been actively supporting businesses in the region, recently advising on transactions in technology and engineering-led services, including a growth capital fundraise for a Solihull-based tech company and the sale of a leading fire protection business to a FTSE 250 acquirer. Additionally, Headpoint advised on the sale of Jaffabox, a Birmingham-based independent cardboard packaging manufacturer, to Schumacher Packaging GmbH, a patron of the Solihull Chamber of Commerce. The deal, which marked Schumacher’s first UK acquisition, strengthened its presence in a strategically important market while securing the long-term future of a well-established local business.

Commenting on his appointment, Mark Wilson stated:

“I am delighted to be appointed as an executive committee member for Solihull Chamber of Commerce. Solihull is a prime inward investment location, ranked in the top 10 UK destinations for business, and home to many key regional economic assets. I am very excited about supporting the Chamber to drive its focused pro-business agenda.”

With over 25 years of corporate finance experience, Mark has advised businesses across a broad range of sectors on mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, and strategic growth initiatives. His expertise aligns with Solihull’s economic priorities, particularly in supporting business innovation, technological advancement, and investment in high-growth sectors.

There is no question that Solihull is entering a period of significant growth. Mark’s appointment to the Solihull Chamber of Commerce Executive Council ensures that businesses in the region will benefit from strategic insights and expert guidance to drive long-term success.
